Fall Essentials: How to Stay Cozy (Part 2)

Well here we are again, talking about this wonderful season of Pumpkin Spice Lattes and crunchy leaves. In this second part, I’ll talk about some of my favorite fall foods, favorite songs and artists of the month, and favorite shows at the moment. Why don’t I just call this post “Fall Favorites”? I don’t know.
I’ll start with foods and drinks. I’m addicted to tea, and most of my friends are well aware of that. I’ll have tea with pizza, with cake, with chips, with salad, with soup, with ANYTHING! But my absolute favorite anytime of the year is Jasmine Green Tea. Unfortunately, green tea isn’t for everyone. Another amazing, particularly fall inspired tea is the Apricot Vanilla Crème by Tazo teas. Sweetened with some sugar, it is perfect and definitely a healthier option compared to the usual Starbucks latte. I also love the new “Chocolate Toast Crunch” cereal this month. It feels odd for me to mention a cereal, but it’s so delicious with milk or without and I’m kinda in love… Just kidding. But it’s really tasty for a quick snack during a boring class or for a midnight craving fulfiller in a bowl of milk(because who eats cereal in the morning? Probably normal people, but not me…).
Moving on to music! This is my passion, honestly. I love singing more than anything and listening to music is part of my daily routine. Recently, I’ve been loving Tove Lo, who’s been popular with her hit “Habits (Stay High)”, but has a lot of amazing songs that aren’t as popular. I love her album “Queen of the Clouds”, and particularly her songs “Not on Drugs” and “This Time Around”. Peculiar song titles, I know, but they’re amazing. Also enjoying “Turn Blue” by the Black Keys, “Do I Wanna Know” and “Fluorescent Adolescent” by the Arctic Monkeys, and “Glow” by Ella Henderson. There are tons more, but I’ve handpicked a few of my favorites that aren’t too popular so you guys could check out something new. These are my jams.
And now about the shows… Well, first of all, if you haven’t watched Gossip Girl or Once Upon a Time, you need to watch those. For reality TV, I’m sticking with Project Runway, Raising Asia, and Dance Moms- and I’m waiting for the new Bachelor season! But currently, on cable, I’m watching Red Band Society, and on Netflix, I’m re-watching Gilmore Girls, an old favorite of mine. And for movies, I’m looking forward to watching The Other Woman, the new remake of Annie the Musical in theatres soon, and I still haven’t seen The Fault in Our Stars so pity me!
That’s it for this post. I hope you guys check out/try out some of these favorites of mine this season. Stay tuned for more posts, lovelies.

Fall Essentials: How to Stay Cozy (Part 1)

Fall Essentials: How to Stay Cozy (Part 1)
It’s Autumn, and it’s the season of pumpkin spice lattes and crunchy leaves. But we don’t always have the time or extra cash to go out and about for some coffee and a stroll at the park; however, there are tips, tricks, and essentials that can ensure you’ll have a cozy, relaxing Fall season right at the comfort of your own home. I’m just here to share my favorites.
Essential Autumn Attire-
1.     Combat boots. Everybody needs a pair for Fall, and Winter. Specifics? You can get a cute pair of leather boots pretty much anywhere, in black or brown or any color that pleases you. You can’t go wrong with the leather. And of course, there are Dr. Martens. The pricier option? They are, but they are worth it and I happen to own a matte black pair myself. They’re amazing.
2.    Long socks. Past the ankle or above the knee, long socks are key. (Poetry isn’t my thing, if you didn’t notice) Any print, shade, material, or texture. You cannot get by this chilly season without them! I enjoy having multiple pairs, to wear out with my boots or a pair of high top Converse, and some pairs to deck at home so I stay comfy and warm.
3.    An awesome jacket. Or two. Or three. Preferably a pretty colored rain coat (mine is a red number from Zara), a thick neutral shaded trench coat (I have a nice fuzzy textured one, also from Zara and a trendy army green one from H&M), and an adorable light wash oversized denim jacket (anywhere from Urban Outfitters to H&M). And I’m pretty sure we all have a leather jacket. I’m hoping, at least.
4.    Lots of sweaters. Do I even have to explain this one? Try to get different varieties of colors and textures so they match different things. I would go anywhere to get them, but Forever 21 and H&M have really cute ones for cheap. But I still can’t ever resist Urban Outfitters, PacSun, or Nordstrom BP. Big key to being in style any time of year: FLANNELS. Around the waist or oversized and unbuttoned, these are considered fall must-haves.
5.    Bottoms. You need a couple pairs of jeans; high-waisted, black, white, light wash, dark wash, acid wash, and/or stone wash. Also leggings, black ones of course, and some cute printed ones that you can get anywhere- but I’m obsessed with the American Apparel ones. Plus, sweats for your leisurely lounging at home or a lazy Monday at school. And you can’t forget cute skater skirts to pair with a cropped tank and knit cardigan.
6.    PAJAMAS! Yes, I saved the best for last. I have the softest in the world, no kidding! I got them at Costco (again, no kidding!) for cheaper than cheap and I practically LIVE in them. Trust me, these are lifesavers, go buy the softest pajama set you can find and wear them every minute you can, because I know I do.
Now, that was only six of the infinite list of clothing essentials for fall that I’d compiled in my head, but it’ll do for now. Now on to the methods of relaxation.
·        Take a luxurious bath with autumn aroma candles, deliciously scented bath bombs purchased at Lush, and a music playlist of your choice humming in the background.
·        Have a marathon of a favorite TV series (Netflix? Netflix.) on the sofa, wearing sweats and drinking a mug of hot tea, coffee, or hot cocoa.
·        Create a Tumblr if you don’t already have one and get inspired, scrolling through your feed on a laptop, cuddled in your warm bed with the window open.
·        Watch YouTube videos, laugh at them, smile, and get inspired. The world of YouTube is literally a lifesaver when you’re drowning in the depths of boredom. And if you’re a little out there- like me- try to MAKE a YouTube video.
·        Try out DIYs. Whatever you find, from facial masks to candles to desserts to clothing items.
So again, these are a few ideas that personally appeal to me. I will do my best to stay an active blogger. What’s to come in these long, illustrious blog posts of mine? Well, music playlist suggestions, lists of favorite YouTubers and such, DIYs, inspiration, and just about anything fun. Stay tuned, lovelies.
          XOXO,
